What’s a USDA/RD Loan?
The USDA/RD loan is a mortgage program backed by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). It helps eligible homeowners in rural areas buy or build a safe and affordable home.
This loan program can be used in most areas of Oklahoma outside of the Oklahoma City metro, Norman, and Tulsa.
The maximum income limit is $110,650 for families of 4 or less and $146,050 for families of 5 or more. (as of 1/1/2024)
Loan Facts You Should Know:
✓ This is the only loan program with $0 down payment for non-military members
✓ Can be used to finance 100% of the property
✓ “Rural” can also include small towns and many suburbs but, generally speaking, it CAN’T be used in the Oklahoma City metro, Norman, or Tulsa
✓ Minimum credit score is 620
✓ Low mortgage insurance rates (1% upfront and monthly rates lower than FHA loans)
✓ Income limits DO apply (cannot make more than 115% of the median income in your county)
✓ Must be used for single-family homes
✓ No hidden fees or terms
